Ogogo’s Daughter Kira Reportedly Welcomes Son Two Days After Actor’s Burial

Kira Taiwo, daughter of late veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has reportedly welcomed a baby boy days after the death and burial of her father.

The reported development comes at a bittersweet moment for the Hassan family, which is still mourning the death of the celebrated Yoruba actor.

According to reports, Kira welcomed her son two days after her father was laid to rest in Ilaro, Ogun State.

Ogogo, 66, died on August 23, 2026, after a period of ill health. He was buried the following day in accordance with Islamic rites.

The actor’s death sent shock waves across Nigeria’s entertainment industry, with colleagues, friends, fans and prominent figures paying tribute to his contribution to Yoruba-language cinema.

Kira had been among the family members who shared emotional moments surrounding her father’s final days.

In one of the messages shared before his death, Ogogo reportedly encouraged his daughter to remain strong and not cry, while urging her to trust in Allah.

The reported arrival of the baby boy has now brought a moment of joy to the family amid the grief following the actor’s death.

Messages of congratulations have reportedly begun circulating among fans and well-wishers, with many celebrating the birth while continuing to sympathise with the family over Ogogo’s passing.

For the family, the birth represents a significant new chapter coming at a difficult time.

Ogogo was one of the most recognisable faces in Yoruba Nollywood, building a career that spanned several decades.

He was known not only for acting but also for his work as a filmmaker, director and producer, and became particularly popular among audiences of Yoruba-language films.

His death has generated widespread reactions across the Nigerian entertainment industry, with tributes highlighting his influence on generations of actors and filmmakers.

The reported birth of his grandson therefore comes as the family continues to navigate the loss of a major figure in their lives.
