Nollywood Actress Temitope Osoba to Be Laid to Rest in Iperu Remo

Late actress Temitope Osoba is scheduled to be buried in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, on Thursday, September 10, 2026.

The new burial date was announced by the actress’s family through an obituary released on Monday.

Osoba died at the age of 40 after working in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, where she was particularly known for Yoruba-language productions.

Her death was announced in August, leading to widespread mourning among colleagues.

Alesh Sanni was among those who publicly paid tribute to her, describing her in affectionate terms and remembering their time together.

Other entertainers also expressed their condolences.

Osoba’s career was interrupted by health challenges, including a reported battle with breast cancer. She later announced her recovery and returned to acting.

Her return to the industry meant she was able to continue her professional work before her death.

The circumstances of her death later became the subject of public discussion, with conflicting accounts emerging.

Her family cautioned against unauthorised reports and appealed to the public to depend on information issued through official channels.

The family’s latest announcement confirms that Iperu Remo will be the location for her final burial.

Thursday’s ceremony is expected to bring together members of Osoba’s family, friends and colleagues from Nollywood.

For the Yoruba film community, the burial will be an opportunity to honour an actress who contributed to the industry during her career.

The actress’s death has been one of several losses recorded within Nollywood in 2026.

Her colleagues have continued to remember her through tributes posted on social media.

The latest funeral arrangement means attention is now focused on ensuring that the actress receives a dignified farewell.

Her family is expected to remain the main source of official information about the ceremony and other matters surrounding the burial.

The gathering in Iperu Remo will provide an opportunity for mourners to remember Osoba’s career and personal relationships.

As the entertainment industry prepares to say goodbye, the actress’s contributions to Yoruba-language cinema are likely to remain part of the tributes surrounding her burial.
