Governor Yusuf demands record-breaking Kano votes for Tinubu in 2027

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has challenged the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign team to deliver the highest number of votes for President Bola Tinubu in Kano in the 2027 general election, insisting that the party will campaign on its achievements rather than personal attacks.

Yusuf gave the charge on Thursday during the inauguration of the management team of the APC’s 2027 presidential and gubernatorial campaign council in Kano.

He said the party’s campaign should focus on explaining its record in government, presenting plans for the future and listening to the concerns of voters instead of engaging in insults against political opponents.

“We are going to campaign based on what the APC leaders have done, not campaign full of insults,” the governor said.

Yusuf urged members of the campaign council to approach their assignments with commitment, stressing that their performance would be crucial to the party’s electoral prospects in Kano.

He said the state should produce more votes for Tinubu than any other state in the country, describing the target as achievable if party members conducted their campaign activities effectively.

“Kano should garner a lot of votes for President Tinubu. The number of votes the APC gets in Kano should be the highest in the country. This is possible if you go out and campaign as required,” he said.

The governor described members of the campaign council as representatives of the APC who must work collectively towards securing victory for the president and the party in the coming election.

He urged them to take their responsibilities seriously and remain focused on mobilising support across the state.

“The members of this council are APC soldiers, and I urge you to carry out your responsibilities with commitment and work towards the party’s victory,” Yusuf said.

The governor also cautioned the campaign team against being intimidated by opposition parties, urging members not to allow fear to affect their activities.

He maintained that the APC had established itself in Kano and called on the newly inaugurated team to demonstrate its strength through effective grassroots mobilisation and sustained engagement with voters.
