Hon. Esho takes up CAN patron, youth adviser roles at Isara investiture

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Remo North Chapter, has urged Hon. Esho Oluwaseyi Sense to use his new role as Patron and Youth Adviser to strengthen Christian youth commitment to the faith and promote unity within the church.

The charge was given by Apostle Yomi Osinowo, chairman of the Remo North Local Government Area CAN chapter, during Esho’s investiture and thanksgiving service at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Isara Remo, Ogun State, on Saturday.

Osinowo said the conferment was intended to encourage more Christian youths to remain steadfast in Christ and maintain unity as members of the body of Christ.

He urged Esho to be a good ambassador for the church and CAN, with a responsibility to encourage young people to remain committed to their faith.

The ceremony also featured the investiture of Mrs Elizabeth Sodiya as Patroness of the association.

In his proposed response to the conferment, Esho expressed gratitude to CAN for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to approach the responsibility with commitment.

“I am deeply honoured by this recognition and grateful to the leadership of CAN for finding me worthy of this responsibility. I see this appointment not just as an honour, but as a call to service. I will do my best to encourage our youths to remain steadfast in Christ, promote unity within the church and support the vision of CAN,” Esho said.

Rev. Bankole Ogundoju, the Remo CAN coordinator, delivered a short exhortation on the importance of being useful at the right time and at the right moment.

His message highlighted the value of recognising opportunities to serve and making meaningful contributions when responsibilities arise, particularly in Christian service and community engagement.

Hon. Biyi Adeleye also addressed the gathering, describing CAN as a pillar of Christianity in Nigeria and praying for continued strength for its leadership across the country.

“CAN is the pillar of Christianity not just in Nigeria, I pray Lord continue to strengthen its leadership, not just in Isara or Remo but the whole of Nigeria,” Adeleye said.

He donated ₦100,000 to the CAN Development Fund during the ceremony.

The order of service included praise and worship, prayer, Bible reading from Ephesians 2:1–10, choir ministration, a special offering, installation, exhortation and thanksgiving.

Political officeholders, council members, church representatives and community figures attended the gathering.

Among those present were Hon. Biyi Adeleye, Hon. Muyiwa Sodade, Hon. Isiaka Olaolu Odunayo, Hon. Felix Sowale and Hon. Titilope Sosanwo.

Council members attended under the leadership of the Leader of the House, Hon. Jolaosho Opeyemi.

Other attendees included Ven. Odeleke, Rev. Ibitoye Testimony, Mrs Yemisi Okunowo, Mr Kazeem Adeyemi Lawal, Comr. Sodiya Olalekan, Mr Rotimi Esho, Mr Seun Agabi, Engr. Amos and Omoba Olumide Odunsi. The With God Love group was also represented.

Hon. Titilope Sosanwo delivered the vote of thanks, bringing the formal proceedings to conclusion.
