Mayorkun Reveals His Conditions for Marriage and Fatherhood

Nigerian singer Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, popularly known as Mayorkun, has sparked a fresh conversation about trust, marriage and fatherhood after revealing the conditions he wants to put in place before starting a family.

The Afrobeats singer disclosed that he intends to sign a prenuptial agreement before marriage and conduct a DNA test whenever his future partner gives birth.

Mayorkun made the disclosure during a recent episode of the In My Opinion podcast, where he discussed relationships, marriage, trust and his expectations about becoming a father.

According to the singer, he had already discussed the proposed arrangements with his girlfriend, but she was unhappy with his position.

“I told my girlfriend we’d have to do a prenup and DNA test when she gives me a child, just to be sure. She got upset,” Mayorkun said, according to reports.

The singer’s comments have since generated reactions online, with discussions focusing on whether DNA testing should be considered a normal precaution in marriage or viewed as an indication of mistrust between partners.

Mayorkun’s position also touches on the increasingly common debate surrounding prenuptial agreements among high-profile individuals, particularly entertainers whose careers and financial interests can extend across multiple businesses and investments.

While the singer’s comments were made in the context of his personal plans, they have opened up a wider conversation among Nigerians about marriage, financial protection, paternity and trust on social media.
