A Ukrainian drone attack has damaged a logistics facility belonging to Ozon in Russia’s Samara region, disrupting operations at the major online retailer as Kyiv continues its campaign against Russian infrastructure linked to the country’s war effort.
Ozon said its facility in Chapayevsk was struck overnight, resulting in injuries and the suspension of work at the site. The company did not provide further details on the extent of the damage, but the incident marks the first reported attack on an Ozon facility since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The strike formed part of a much wider Ukrainian drone assault across several Russian regions. Russian authorities said at least eight civilians were killed in the overnight attacks, while several others were injured.
In the southern Krasnodar region, three people, including two children, were killed in a separate strike in the port town of Yeysk. A fire also broke out at a facility in the town’s port, according to the regional governor.
Other casualties were reported in the Belgorod and Bryansk regions, which border Ukraine, while authorities in Russian-controlled Luhansk said two civilians, including a 16-year-old boy, were killed.
