Enugu Air is preparing to enter the Nigeria–United Kingdom aviation market with a new Lagos–London Gatwick service scheduled to begin in December 2026, following regulatory approval for the international route.
Bookings have opened for the service, which will be operated by Omni-Blu Aviation (OBA) under a strategic partnership with the Enugu State-owned airline.
The new international connection comes about six weeks after Enugu Air operated its maiden overseas flight to Douala, Cameroon, on September 23, 2026. Its expansion into the London market represents another step in efforts to extend its operations beyond Nigeria’s domestic aviation sector.
Under the partnership arrangement, Omni-Blu Aviation will serve as the designated operator for the Lagos–Gatwick route, providing an additional option for passengers travelling between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
Enugu Air described the approval as an important development in its expansion strategy, highlighting the potential to improve passenger connectivity and support commercial activities between both countries.
The airline also linked the development to Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah’s broader ambition to establish the state as a centre for international aviation, investment and tourism.
Launched in July 2025, Enugu Air began operations with three Embraer aircraft, comprising the E170 and E190 models. Its establishment forms part of the state government’s wider transportation development programme, which seeks to strengthen regional connectivity.
The December launch will further expand the airline’s international presence, while offering travellers another route option for journeys between Lagos and London.
