Remo Stars head coach, Olumide Ajibolade, has called on supporters to rally behind the team as the Ikenne-based club begins its campaign for an immediate return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The Sky Blue Stars are competing in the Nigeria National League (NNL) following their relegation from the top flight, with promotion back to the NPFL emerging as their major target for the new campaign.

Ahead of their opening fixture against Rovers FC on Sunday, Ajibolade addressed the club’s supporters in a letter, describing the new season as an opportunity for the team to begin another chapter.

The coach expressed his determination to lead the side through a competitive campaign, pledging that the players would fight, entertain and aim higher as they pursue their objectives.

His message comes as Remo Stars seek to put last season’s disappointment behind them and re-establish themselves among Nigeria’s leading football clubs.

The opening encounter against Rovers FC offers Ajibolade’s men an opportunity to make an encouraging start to their promotion campaign, although the club will need sustained performances throughout the season to achieve its ambition.

Remo Stars previously established themselves as one of the prominent sides in Nigerian football, winning the NPFL title before their subsequent relegation.

With the new NNL season underway, the Ikenne outfit will be looking to combine its experience, squad quality and home support in its bid to secure a swift return to the top division.
