Jibrin<\/strong>, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu can defeat former Kano State Governor <strong>Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso<\/strong> in Kano State in the 2027 presidential election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">Jibrin, a member of the ruling <strong>All Progressives Congress (APC)<\/strong>, said the political dynamics ahead of the 2027 election would be significantly different from those of the 2023 presidential contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">The lawmaker, who previously worked closely with Kwankwaso, said his experience within the former governor\u2019s political camp has given him a detailed understanding of the <strong>Kwankwasiyya movement<\/strong>, its structure and political strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">According to Jibrin, this experience could help the APC develop an effective strategy to challenge Kwankwaso\u2019s influence in Kano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Jibrin points to changing political dynamics<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">Jibrin also highlighted the expected difference in Kwankwaso\u2019s role in the 2027 election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">In 2023, Kwankwaso contested the presidency as the candidate of the <strong>New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)<\/strong> and secured a significant victory in Kano State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">Tinubu, who contested on the APC platform, finished behind Kwankwaso in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">However, Jibrin argued that the political configuration has changed ahead of the next presidential election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">He maintained that former associates and members of Kwankwaso\u2019s political structure who are now aligned with the APC understand the movement\u2019s strengths and weaknesses and are better positioned to challenge it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Kano remains key to 2027 race<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">Kano is expected to remain one of the most closely watched states in the 2027 presidential election because of its large electorate and significant influence on national politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">Kwankwaso has maintained a strong political base in the state, while the APC is expected to intensify its mobilisation efforts ahead of the election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">Jibrin, however, believes these factors will not prevent Tinubu from making significant gains in Kano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">His comments come as political parties and prominent politicians continue to position themselves for the 2027 presidential contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">The former Kwankwaso ally\u2019s prediction is likely to add to the growing political debate over whether the APC can overturn the result of the 2023 presidential election in
