NAF Intensifies Air Operations in Sokoto to Crush Terrorist, Bandit Activities

The Nigerian Air Force has intensified its air operations across the North-West, with a strengthened presence in Sokoto State as part of efforts to combat terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities threatening communities in the region.

The increased deployment is aimed at sustaining pressure on hostile elements while improving aerial surveillance and the military’s ability to respond quickly to emerging security threats.

According to the NAF, the strengthened air presence will also provide additional support to ground troops conducting joint operations within the designated area of responsibility.

The Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the initiative reflects the Service’s determination to maintain operational pressure on terrorist and criminal groups and restrict their ability to operate freely.

He said the Air Force would continue to employ its air assets to support ongoing efforts by security forces to protect communities and restore stability across affected areas.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, said the changing security environment required security agencies to combine accurate and timely intelligence with responsive airpower and effective coordination between aerial and ground forces.

Aneke said the NAF remained committed to maintaining a high level of operational readiness and ensuring that hostile elements were denied the freedom to threaten innocent civilians.

The Air Force also urged members of the public to support security operations by providing timely and credible information to the appropriate authorities.
