Bashorun Olalekan Awosanya Steps Up Senator Yayi’s Support With Additional Vehicle, Campaign Items

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, on Monday received the Bashorun Akarigbo Offin of Sagamu, Bashorun Adebayo Awosanya, at the Radisson Blu, where the Sagamu chieftain presented an additional vehicle and other items in support of ongoing mobilisation efforts.

Awosanya, who had earlier donated five vehicles to support the APC mobilisation structure in Sagamu Local Government, arrived with another vehicle, a 2012 Toyota Sienna, alongside campaign materials and other items valued at about N5 million.

The presentation was followed by a private meeting involving Awosanya, Yayi, an aide to Governor Dapo Abiodun, and the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr Iziaq Adekunle Salako.

Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Awosanya said the invitation followed Yayi’s appreciation of his earlier contribution of five vehicles to the mobilisation efforts in Sagamu.

He said he used the opportunity to present another vehicle as part of his continued support for the mobilisation efforts in the local government.

According to Awosanya, the meeting lasted about one hour and 30 minutes and focused on political mobilisation and other matters concerning Sagamu.

Awosanya said Yayi approved the requests he presented during the meeting and formally admitted him into his political structure.

He also disclosed that Yayi presented him with the Yayi Caucus crest, which he said would serve as his identification within the political structure.

The Sagamu traditional title holder further said he had been confirmed as a member of the Sagamu Local Government Elders and Leaders Forum.

He added that he had also been included in the state caucus and Yayi’s political team.

Awosanya said the meeting further strengthened his alignment with Yayi and his commitment to supporting mobilisation efforts in Sagamu ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
