Content creator Elizabeth Amadu, popularly known as Jarvis, has opened up about the difficult experiences she endured before finding fame through social media.

Speaking during an interactive session at Pastor Tobi Adegboyega’s church in the United Kingdom, Jarvis described a childhood marked by family difficulties, financial hardship, hunger and uncertainty.

She said she was raised largely by her grandparents because she did not grow up with her father, while her mother struggled with bipolar disorder.

According to Jarvis, living with her mother’s condition made her childhood particularly difficult because the atmosphere at home could change suddenly.

She said her grandparents played an important role in helping her navigate those circumstances, describing them as strict but instrumental in shaping her character.

Jarvis also recalled periods when her family struggled to afford school fees. She said she was determined not to abandon her education or resort to questionable means of making money.

Her situation became so difficult that she and her sister sometimes watched food videos on TikTok when they were hungry.

The turning point came when someone introduced her to TikTok livestreaming as a possible source of income.

Jarvis said she initially went live with her sister and made $5 after attracting about 200 viewers.

Although the amount was small, she said the money gave them hope because they needed funds for school and basic necessities.

She explained that her family was initially opposed to her involvement in social media, reflecting concerns common among parents about young people exposing themselves online.

Despite those concerns, Jarvis and her sister continued livestreaming because they believed it could help them improve their circumstances.

Over time, the activity developed into content creation and eventually became a major part of Jarvis’ career.

She also spoke about meeting Peller through livestreaming. According to Jarvis, Peller initially showed interest in her sister rather than her.

She said she encouraged him to speak to her sister because she believed they were better suited.

At the time, Jarvis said she only wanted to create content, have fun and maintain a friendship.

She did not expect their interactions to eventually develop into a relationship.

Jarvis’ account provides an insight into the difficult period she says preceded her rise as a social media personality.

Her story also highlights how digital platforms can become alternative sources of income for young people facing financial difficulties, although her experience was shaped by circumstances specific to her family.
