Nigerian music star Burna Boy is heading back to Paris for another major performance at Stade de France, this time as the headline act for the halftime show of the NFL’s first regular-season game in France.

The Grammy Award-winning singer will perform on October 25 when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the New Orleans Saints at the iconic stadium.

The NFL confirmed the announcement on Thursday, adding another major international platform to Burna Boy’s growing list of global performances. The game is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. local time in France, with the halftime performance forming part of the league’s expanding international programme.

The appearance gives Burna Boy an immediate connection to the venue. In April 2025, he became the first African artist to headline a concert at Stade de France, a landmark performance that further established his position on the international music circuit.

His return will now place an African music star at the centre of an American sporting event being staged in one of Europe’s major cultural capitals.

Burna Boy said the return to Paris carries particular meaning because of his previous experience at the stadium.

The NFL has also positioned the performance within its wider effort to make its international games major entertainment events rather than sporting fixtures alone.

The Paris game is part of a record international programme for the 2026 season, with seven halftime shows scheduled across seven countries and four continents. Other performers announced for the international series include Ayra Starr in London, Ricky Martin and Pedro Sampaio in Rio de Janeiro, the Jonas Brothers in Melbourne, Cage The Elephant in Munich and The Warning in Mexico City.

For Burna Boy, the NFL appearance extends a run of performances at some of the world’s biggest sporting platforms. He has previously performed at the UEFA Champions League final and NBA All-Star Game.

The Paris assignment also comes as the NFL continues to expand its presence beyond the United States. France is a new market for the regular-season schedule, making the Steelers-Saints fixture the league’s first regular-season game on French soil.

The choice of Burna Boy adds a Nigerian and wider African dimension to that expansion.

NFL senior director of global game presentation, music and entertainment Tim Tubito said the league wanted an artist capable of matching the importance of its first game in France.

Burna Boy’s performance will be broadcast live in France on France Télévisions and beIN Sports, while L’Équipe will broadcast the game later that evening.
