Two people have been feared dead following a violent attack at the car park of Filmhouse Cinemas IMAX in the Lekki area of Lagos.
The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Saturday, creating a tense situation at the cinema premises.
Filmhouse management confirmed the incident in a statement released later in the day, acknowledging that an attack had taken place at its Lekki facility.
According to reports, a man armed with a cutlass attacked a security personnel of the organisation and another individual at the premises.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, while the motive of the attacker has not been confirmed.
It was gathered that the victims resisted the attacker during the incident and prevented him from gaining entry into the cinema facility.
The attack reportedly took place at the car park of the Filmhouse IMAX premises, rather than inside the cinema facility.
Filmhouse management’s confirmation of the incident came later on Saturday as details surrounding the attack continued to emerge.
The identities and conditions of those involved were not provided in the information available at the time of reporting.
